Anthony De Lima

30+ years architecting transformative technology strategies across 46 countries. Turning complexity into competitive advantage for the world's most ambitious organizations.

AI is becoming the core of how companies operate: an intelligent engine that deepens business understanding, anticipates change, and drives focused execution. The challenge is moving beyond isolated experiments to build organizations that sense, think, adapt, and act in real time. But as AI gains the ability to act, a harder question follows: who gave it permission? That is the question at the heart of The Authorization Age: how to give machines greater responsibility while keeping authority in human hands.

The Authorization Age

Who gave the machine permission?

Machines are beginning to act in our name. Who gave them permission? AI can imitate our voices, move money, approve transactions, and execute decisions—while the evidence of what we actually authorized can be difficult to establish. In The Authorization Age, technology executive Anthony De Lima exposes the gap between a machine’s ability to act and its right to do so. Drawing on documented cases, he untangles five questions that businesses and institutions too often confuse: what AI can do, who it claims to be, what it can access, what someone agreed to, and whether that person had the authority to agree.

Written for business leaders, board members, policymakers, technology builders, and anyone concerned about AI acting on their behalf, this book offers a framework for keeping authority in human hands. De Lima argues that evidence of permission must travel with every task, be checked where actions take effect, and give people a practical way to challenge unauthorized outcomes. As machines take on more consequential decisions, The Authorization Age asks us to choose: will we become passengers—or remain authors?

In His Own Words

In His Own Words

“

We’re entering a defining era for business and society. With good data and real governance, AI can sharpen capital decisions, raise productivity, reduce waste, and strengthen risk controls. It helps leaders decide faster and better across pricing, supply chains, customers, and people.

AI is becoming central to how companies operate. It can strengthen judgment, shorten decision cycles, and scale what great teams already do well. Done right, that means lower costs, stronger margins, better customer experiences, and greater resilience.

With this opportunity comes responsibility. As AI increasingly replicates our voices, likenesses, and presence, we need safeguards that protect identity, preserve human authority, and ensure accountability for actions taken in our name.

We must also ensure developing countries can participate in, and help shape, this progress. That means expanding access to knowledge, education, digital infrastructure, and emerging innovations, while investing in local talent and research. These countries must have the opportunity to build solutions for their own needs, contribute to AI’s development, and share in its economic benefits. The time to build both the safeguards and the opportunities is now.

UN Global Dialogue on AI Governance

Taking Verifiable Authorization to the United Nations

“When the evidence is missing, the action stops.”

In October 2026, Anthony submitted a formal input to the Joint Secretariat of the Global Dialogue on AI Governance: AI should show verifiable evidence of authorization before it uses a person’s voice, face or likeness, discloses protected information, or moves funds. It matters because authority, not just capability, is what makes AI trustworthy at scale.

The Question

Capability is advancing in labs across dozens of countries, and no single actor can slow it. The open question is who governs what AI systems do when they act for people and institutions.

The Proposal

A federated authorization layer built on existing standards. Like SWIFT for banks, it carries requests and signed evidence of permission, but never holds the rights. No company or country owns it.

The Request

Input to the follow-up of the 2026 Geneva Dialogue and preparations for the second Dialogue in New York, 3–4 May 2027, on safe, secure and trustworthy AI and interoperable governance.

The Mindset

Thought Architecture

Published perspectives on the forces reshaping enterprise technology, consumer experience, and the future of leadership.

Artificial intelligence is accelerating at a pace that defies comprehension — its capabilities expanding, its adoption deepening, its role reshaping industries and even enabling us to envision a future beyond our own planet. Yet this same moment demands something urgent and equally visionary: the construction of safeguards that preserve the authenticity of human identity. The frontier is not only about how far intelligence can reach — it is about what we protect, and who we remain, as we arrive there.

07
The Next Generation

The Architecture of Resilience

Building the cognitive, ethical, and practical foundations for a world mediated by synthetic intelligence. The generation entering education today will graduate into a reality where AI is not a tool they use — it is the substrate of every decision, every system, and every interaction. The question is no longer whether they will encounter AI. It is whether they will be equipped to lead within it, question it, and preserve what is human about the world it builds.

Sense

Cultivating Critical Discretion

In a reality where information is generated, not just discovered, the primary skill is discernment. We must teach the next generation to interrogate the provenance, intent, and accuracy of every input — the shift from consuming content to validating truth.

Adapt

The Resilience of Fluidity

Obsolescence is the new default. Survival in an AI-driven economy requires a continuous re-architecture of one’s own skills — the capacity to unlearn, synthesize across disparate domains, and pivot with the pace of the models themselves.

Protect

Sovereignty in the Age of Synthesis

As identity becomes replicable, the defense of one’s own likeness and reputation is the ultimate infrastructure. We advocate for a generation that treats digital identity as a sovereign asset — practicing cryptographic literacy and behavioral integrity to keep their human footprint immutable.

Create

The Human-AI Synthesis

The goal is not to compete with the engine, but to become its architect. We champion a mindset where AI provides the computational leverage, and humans provide the context, empathy, and visionary intent that define progress.

The Imperative

We owe the next generation more than fluency in AI. We owe them the judgment to use it wisely, the courage to question it, and the infrastructure to remain unmistakably human within it.
